HOW TO MAKE
TOMATO PICKLE :
Tomato pickle made with ripe seasonal tomatoes, spices and oil. An
Indian meal is incomplete without a pickle on the side. This pickle is flavorsome,
spicy, hot and simply delicious. In this post I’m gonna show you how to make
tomato pickle.
INGREDIANTS :
1. tomatoes 1 kg

Salt 3/4th cup
3. Red chili powder - 100gms
4. Tamarind-100gms
5. Peanut Oil - 150ml
6. Garlic pods -20
7. Methi seeds-2spoons
8. Mustard seeds - 1spoon
INGEDIANTS FOR TALIMPU :
1. Red chillis 4
2.
Curry Leaves
3. Mustardseed 1spoon
4.
Hing -1/2 spoon
METHOD :
First
cut the tomatoes and put them in a pan. Add 3/4th cup of salt saute
well and keep it aside. Take another pan and add 2 spoons of methi seeds and
saute well. Now take the pan with tomatoes and boil until the tomatoes absorb
the juice. Grind 2 spoons of methi seeds and a spoon of mustard seeds keep it
aside. Grind the garlic and keep it aside. After 10 mins, add 100g of tamarind into
the tomatoes, stir well and let it cool. After it cools down grind the mixture.
After grinding it put it into a pan and add 100g of chili powder, methi seeds
and mustard seeds powder, garlic paste. Stir well and keep it aside. Now add
150ml of oil into another pan (adding groundnut oil will make the pickle taste delicious)
and add ½ spoon mustard seeds, curry leaves, 4 chilies and mix well. After
stirring it add a ½ spoon of inguva. Now add the talimpu in the tomato paste
and mix well. Your delicious tomato pickle is ready to eat!
