 How to make Mango Avakaya :

Mango pickle is a traditional Indian condiment made with raw mangoes, spices and oil. In India, pickles are relished as a side in every meal. It is eaten with dal-rice, dal-roti, parathas & even with many breakfast dishes. Indian cuisine is diverse so a mango pickle is made in many different ways.

 

Ingredients:

1.    Green mangoes

2.    Groundnut oil

3.    Crystal salt

4.    Chili powder

5.    Methi seeds

6.    Garlic

7.    Mustard powder

 

Method:

Let’s start off by cutting the mangoes into medium pieces and cleaning them.  Now add groundnut oil and mix well. Grind the crystal salt and let it dry in the sunlight. Add the salt, chili powder, mustard powder, garlic, methi seeds and mix them well together. After mixing it all together add some groundnut oil and mix well. Now take a huge steel container, add some groundnut oil. Put the mango pieces into the container and add more groundnut oil on top. Cover it with a lid and let it set for 3 days. After three drays The pickle will be ready to eat!
